Facebook Expands Instant Games to Facebook Lite and Increases its Discoverability

In addition to making Instant Games available on Facebook Gaming Groups, Facebook continues to expand the platform even further by making Instant Games available for Facebook Lite App users.

Facebook Lite is a lighter version of Facebook application, available on Android. The size of the app is significantly smaller, but it still offers all the features from the normal Facebook app. This app is mainly aimed at those with limited internet connection.

The Instant Games are now available to play through Facebook Lite's "More" menu. You can now enjoy the games even on the slow internet speed, as you do not require any download to play the games on Facebook Lite.

Facebook also aims to further help the Instant Games developer community. Previously, Facebook have encouraged the developers to produce more games by adding monetization features. Starting from earlier this year, developers can monetize their game through advertisements, both on Android and iOS, as well as In-App Purchases on Android, iOS and Facebook's webpage.

Facebook recently announced that it will also be tweaking the Games page, to improve the games' discoverability and the players' experience.

Facebook will continue to invest on its Instant Games feature in the future. If you are interested in becoming an Instant Games developer, you can start your game developing career with Melon Gaming's HTML5-based engine, MelonJS. MelonJS is the most lightweight HTML5-based game engine. It's compatible with a lot of third-party-tools to help make your 2D games a lot easier.
