In recent years, the game development industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth. Alongside this, several universities and high schools in indonesia have started to recognize game development as a promising field with the potential to become a thriving industry in the country.

This year, Melon Gaming launched an internship program aimed at allowing interns to create and test games using the Melon Editor, a locally developed game creation tool.

For the program’s inaugural batch, Melon Gaming welcomed Mohammad Adiba Alghifari, a student from SMK Negeri 1 Pemalang, majoring in Software and Game Development. During the internship, Adiba used the Melon Editor to create a game and provided valuable feedback to improve the tool for users.

After four months, Adiba successfully developed an engaging game titled Suro: Path of Evolution. The game revolves around a shark that preys on smaller fish and evolves into a more superior form as it progresses. The concept was inspired by the classic and popular game Feeding Frenzy.

With the increasing presence of game development programs in Indonesian schools and the advancement of locally-made tools like the Melon Editor, we hope to accelerate the growth of the game development industry in Indonesia. The vision is for Indonesia not only to remain a consumer of international games but also to become a significant creator and consumer of locally-made games.
